One of the greatest concerns that you can have as a parent is when it comes to youths taking alcoholic. As the world progresses to a more liberalized place, alcoholism among the youth has become a major thorn in the flesh in most societies. To the youth, this is a just a normal activity with the intention of having fun. In fact, in some societies, alcoholism drinking among the young people is regarded as a rite of passage. But is this the kind of society that you would want your children to grow in? Where alcoholism is a lifestyle instead of being a vice in the society?

This culture of tolerance has brought about an endless list of negative impacts that affect the youth. Death is always the ultimate price that you as a young person have to pay if you cannot stop engaging in alcoholic. One way that you may end up dead after taking alcohol is through road accidents. The youth have been known for taking unreasonable risks. Moreover, in the event they are drunk they tend to engage in driving while under intoxication, which leads to gruesome accidents. There other cause of death among the youth as a result of alcoholism is through sexually transmitted diseases such as the deadly AIDS. Alcoholism always tends to make your reasoning capacity slow. You become irrational as well as loose control over yourself and your body. Worse is the case of a young person, with a lot of sexual energy he or she might end up engaging in an irresponsible sexual activity. Majority of the AIDS infections among the youth are as a result of engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse without due regard of the consequences of alcoholic. Another notable negative impact of alcoholism among the young people is a drop in academic performance. Moreover, the interest for education has dwindled among the young people and the level of responsibility has also come down leaving a society with few and in some cases, no responsible young person to be entrusted with the future.
